Environmentally friendly, recycled plastic lumber solutions
Bedford Technology’s standard structural plastic lumber lays the foundation for our other product lines. With any foundation you want stability, durability and something tangible you can count on. With SelectForce® by Bedford Technology, you can build it and forget it. As the foundation of Bedford Technology’s other product lines, the SelectForce® line of recycled plastic boards by Bedford Technology fits a wide range of applications. It is available in a vast range of custom shapes and colors and can have variable strength and rigidity properties depending on your exact project requirements. Many businesses across a variety of industries prefer our recycled plastic boards and other recycled plastic building materials for the range of versatility they provide.
Our standard recycled plastic boards are used for many types of applications in commercial markets including marine, industrial, agriculture, parks and recreation, outdoor furniture and many more. We work with our customers to find the right engineered solutions to meet their specific project requirements for recycled plastic boards.
Designed For Lasting
Our products can withstand year-round weather conditions. They can endure the harshest of environments including rain, snow, extreme heat and extreme cold.
Due to our manufacturing process, the color is engineered throughout the entire process so you will never have to worry about painting, staining or sealing our products.
Not Chemically Treated
Our products simply don’t need to be chemically treated like wood does. Our product will never rot, splinter or degrade over time like wood can.
Your customers will love that our recycled plastic boards are graffiti-resistant and can easily be cleaned with soap and water; truly making it a low-maintenance product.
Our Standard Lumber Manufacturing Process
We take in HDPE recycled plastic from postindustrial and post-consumer waste. Items found in these types of recycled waste include milk jugs and juice bottles; butter and yogurt tubs; shampoo bottles; industrial containers; agricultural (water) tanks; and motor oil bottles.
Prepare for Extrusion
After the bales of recycled material are received, we break down the material through our unique process filtering out paper labels and other unwanted items from the mix.
Our Standard Lumber products go through our Molded HT process. Additional materials like UV stabilizers, colorant, and strengtheners (like fiberglass strand) are added during each process so the end-product contains consistent color and texture throughout the entire length of the plastic lumber.
Our final product is a durable, long-lasting recycled plastic lumber board that can be constructed to fit your specific needs for your project or design. No matter the application, we offer an unbeatable selection of recycled plastic lumber products to choose from with a wide selection of colors for whatever aesthetic you’re going for.
SelectForce® by Bedford Technology
Bedford Technology uses recycled HDPE (high density polyethylene) plastic to manufacture durable plastic lumber. Our material is sourced from post-consumer recycled plastics like milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles. As the foundation of Bedford Technology’s other product lines, SelectForce® by Bedford Technology fits a wide range of applications because it is available in custom shapes and colors, and can have added strength and rigidity depending on your project requirements.
Replacing Traditional Wood with Plastic Lumber
There are many benefits to using plastic timber and recycled plastic building materials instead of traditional wood. With plastic lumber, you get a longer life-cycle and lower maintenance costs. Composite structural lumber products by Bedford Technology are truly low-maintenance – they don’t need to be painted or stained and graffiti comes right off with a pressure washer. Our recycled plastic lumber can withstand extreme environments because it doesn’t rot, splinter or degrade and structural integrity is built into the product. Plastic lumber does not leach chemicals and is not chemically-treated so there are no harmful effects on the environment. Below are a few more reasons why plastic lumber is a great solution for your project needs:
Helping Save the Environment
Standard plastic lumber is also the foundation of Bedford Technology’s effort to help conserve the environment. The manufacturing process keeps millions of milk jugs and other household plastics out of the landfills and is an environmentally-friendly product that can also be recycled. Not only is the material recycled, but the plastic lumber end-product is also recyclable. Over the last 20 years, Bedford Technology and our customers have helped save millions and millions of pounds of plastic from going to the landfill.
Projects using standard recycled plastic lumber also meet sustainability practice requirements by the USGBC, which can qualify for the LEED Certification Program. Using plastic lumber will not only make you an innovator in the construction market, but you can even earn points for your green construction efforts.
